Hi, I’m Kimberly R. Jones, an interior designer and the voice behind a lifestyle blog. A platform where I share inspiration for home décor, special celebrations and lifestyle experiences. As far back as I can remember I’ve always walked into a space and immediately noticed the functionality, comfort and aesthetics of the area. Home design and making a space work has always been a natural fit for me. I’ve styled homes, planned parties and coordinated intimate weddings. Helping create beautiful spaces and memorable celebrations is what I do. I also enjoy motorcycle riding.

So how does motorcycling fit into my lifestyle? Surprisingly, motorcycling is a form of self care for me. It helps me maintain a work and family life balance. My family of four are avid motorcycle riders and we often ride together. Riding allows me the opportunity to de-stress, unwind and have fun. Cruising on my Lowrider through a back countryside road relaxes my spirit, brings me joy and helps me prepare for the next challenge that lays ahead.
It Started With Family
Practical Stylish Living was inspired out of a need to create a home on a budget, provide for my family and maintain my physical and mental health. What naturally followed was capturing home ideas, décor tips, inspiration and do-it yourself projects that improved my home’s functionality, comfort and style.
Backstory: A Fire
After our home was struck by lightning and completely destroyed by fire, I began to document the process of rebuilding and decorating our new home. Though saddened and overwhelmed by the experience of starting over in life… I found it therapeutic to journal and to ride my motorcycle. Journaling home aspects of what to replace, what to do differently, and what to add, if possible.

When unexpected building delays caused disappointment and stress, motorcycle riding was a good distraction. It allowed me to clear my mind which ultimately improved my mood. Motorcycle riding always gives me an endorphin boost and a sense of… “Peace In The Midst of A Storm.” My Harley is a tool in my tool box that helps me destress.
Home Environment
As for my home, our environment is functional, comfortable, and stylish. Most often, music is playing in our home. For me, music gives a way out, relaxes my soul, and helps me refocus and wind down. Our home atmosphere is laid back and has a contemporary vibe with a little dash of tradition.
