Tips for Female Motorcycle Riders
After you’ve loaded your saddlebags with basic tools, a first aid kit, rain gear and extra clothing. How do you protect and quickly access your valuables and personal essentials?
Safety Tips

Safeguard Your Money
Store credit cards, identification and cash by using a discrete wrist wallet. Bypass searching, fumbling and digging through your bags and pockets to make a purchase. Quick and easy access to currency while keeping it safe and secure from loss, pickpocketing and thieves. Also great for exercising, shopping, running errands and traveling.

Keep Emergency Food
When riding a motorcycle always have nutritional chips and protein bars available in case of an emergency. We once waited eight hours for a flatbed to arrive in response to our roadside service call. Our healthy snacks provided nutrition, cut down our food cravings and kept us satisfied until our next meal. Kind bars and breakfast ovals are the small sized snacks we keep stashed in our saddlebags and pockets. Emergency food will assist in preventing you from becoming hangry (hungry and angry).

Dismount Routine

Develop a detailed motorcycle dismounting routine and implement immediately at every destination. Prevents misplacing keys, leaving bike in accessory mode and forgetting your phone. My Dismounting Routine:
1. Place bike in neutral
2. Engage kickstand
3. Turn engine off
4. Secure keys
5. Retrieve phone from mount
6. Dismount left of bike
7. Shut off power to helmet
8. Secure helmet
9. Turn off GoPro cameras
10. Ready to greet, give hugs and enjoy destination

Perform Maintenance Checks
Jen Jones, Motorcycle Maintenance Instructor provided us a private class session. She reviewed the importance of completing a pre-ride inspection. In addition to covering topics like engine oil, accurately identifying tools and proper tire maintenance. Jen also shared with us a new gadget for monitoring tire pressure. Maintenance checks assist in early detection of potential difficulties that lead to needing roadside assistance. We’ll be sharing more from Jen soon…
