Priscilla: I ride a Harley-Davidson Sportster XL883
How Long Have You Been Riding A Motorcycle?
Priscilla: I’ve been riding on a motorcycle all my life. When I was 5 years old my grandfather Jimmy gave me my first motorcycle ride.
When Did You Start Operating A Motorcycle?
Priscilla: My father began to teach me how to ride a motorcycle the summer of 2020.

Priscilla: My grandparents, Jimmy & Alison Jones started motorcycling in our family… and my entire family rides.
Why do You Ride a Motorcycle?
Priscilla: I was born into a family who loves motorcycles. Motorcycles have been around me all my life. I really had no choice but to ride!
Tell About A Funny Experience That You’ve Had While Riding Your Motorcycle?
Priscilla: Once I was trying to make a u-turn on a road that was elevated. I could feel the bike starting to give out, so I rolled on the throttle, but I rolled on the throttle a little too much.

Priscilla: …the next thing I knew, I’m flying towards a bush. I squeezed the brakes as hard as I could…
Bush Incident
Priscilla: …and stopped inches away from crashing into the bush. Scared the crap out of me. It wasn’t funny when it happened, but it’s funny now.
Another Experience
Priscilla: When I first started riding I tried to stop at a stop sign, and stopped way past the stop sign.
The Lesson Learned
Priscilla: I was trained to use the front and back brakes… my level of understanding quickly increased. Failing to use the front and back brakes can prevent a timely stop.

The Blessing
Priscilla: The blessing was that no one was coming from either direction, and I didn’t get hurt or hit by another vehicle.

Dropped Bike?
Priscilla: Yes, I’ve dropped my bike. It happened when I was at a stop sign on an elevated road, trying to make a right hand turn.
Maneuvering on A Hill
Priscilla: Being able to make a turn on a hill while at a complete stop is a tricky thing to do on a motorcycle. It’s a skill I definitely need more practice with.

Priscilla: That’s my favorite biker saying because it accurately depicts my life.

Priscilla: Use their turn signals… Please! Like drivers, motorcycle riders have to make decisions in advance. We need to know their next move to stay safe!
Does your Bike Have a Nickname?
Priscilla: Yes, my bike’s nickname is Roxxy!
What’s one Thing That Makes Your Motorcycle Ride A Lot More Enjoyable?
Priscilla: My easy grip motorcycle clutch… it makes my clutch lever easier to pull. Before I had it my hand would hurt by the end of a motorcycle ride.
What’s the farthest distance you’ve rode on your motorcycle?
Priscilla: So far the farthest distance I’ve rode on my motorcycle has been about 180 miles.
What’s One Piece of Advice You’d Give To New Riders?
Priscilla: Don’t be afraid to drop your bike! It happens to everyone, even experienced riders.

Priscilla: I’d like to give a shoutout to Black Women For Wellness – committed to the health and well-being of Black women and girls through health education, empowerment and advocacy.
