What’s The Harley-Davidson 120th Anniversary?
The Harley-Davidson 120th Anniversary Kickoff is an annual celebration of music, entertainment and Harley-Davidson motoculture. Our kickoff began at Three Rivers Harley-Davidson, the only Harley-Davidson dealership in Pittsburgh, PA.

Our journey started meeting up with local HOG members, Three Rivers Harley-Davidson staff and executives from Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

George Gatto, owner of Three Rivers Harley-Davidson, and staff members did a great job welcoming Harley executives who rode through Pittsburgh on their way to attend the 120th anniversary party.
HD 120th Surprise Encounter
We met Karen Davidson, great-grand daughter of William A. Davidson (Harley-Davidson Founder), after she rolled into the dealership fully outfitted in rain gear. What a wonderful and pleasant surprise to meet Karen.Leather Riding Boots
Safety Tips
When Riding in the Rain:
✅ Traction – slow down. Your braking distance increases on wet roads.
✅ Visibility – when stopped leave your face shield slightly open until you’re moving. Air movement will prevent a foggy face shield.
✅ Comfort – invest in good rain gear. Warm and dry beats cold and wet any day.
2023 Harley-Davidson Anniversary Kickoff
Unbeknownst to me, Karen was the only female rider participating in the journey to the HD celebration. The group traveled from New Hampshire weathering through unexpected rain storms.

Karen Davidson, Creative Director
Karen was riding a 2023 Road King. Watching her flawlessly maneuver the bike and handle it with proficiency was very inspiring. Karen’s the Creative Director for Harley-Davidson’s general merchandise division. She directs the designs for Harley-Davidson’s apparel and accessory lines.
Bill Davidson, Vice President
It was also a nice surprise meeting Bill Davidson, great-grandson of William A. Davidson (Harley-Davidson Founder). Bill is the Vice President of the Harley-Davidson Museum and Factory Tours for Harley-Davidson Motor Company.
New Harley-Davidson 120th Anniversary Road Glide
Bill’s iron horse was a 2023 Road Glide Anniversary Edition. Bill was pretty laid back, happy the rain had stopped and genuinely appreciated the welcome received from local HOG family members.
Previous Harley-Davidson Family Meeting
After welcoming Karen and Bill to Pittsburgh, I realized my family previously met their parents, Willie G. Davidson and Nancy Davidson years ago. Pretty cool meeting two generations of the family legacy that started the Harley-Davidson phenomena.
